Listen to a song: Friends will be friends
Aims: To teach song and give the students the opportunity to sing.
To create a relaxed atmosphere through music in which the students use their technical culture to work with meaning and share their own feelings.
Time: 45 minutes
Materials: worksheets, and BB.

Warm up/ Pre-Listening activity
Ask students to brainstorm on:
We need friends when
Tell students the song is about “Friends who are always there for you”. Ask students to predict more words in the song. They are going to be written on the BB. Then, students will listen to check if “their words” appear.
They are going to listen to the whole song.
While-Listening activities
Activity 1
Recognizing chunks and ordering them.Students will try to order the verse. Then, they will listen to the song as many times as necessary. Finally, they listen again and check.
Important metaphorical language must be taught.

Activity 2 - Chorus
To activate prior knowledge and develop students’ awareness of pronunciation and spelling by means of recognizing and writing words.
Students will listen to the second stanza and complete the lines using given words.
Students will listen and sing.
